The Story of M & J's Coffeehouse

​M&J’s Coffeehouse was founded in 2023 by Stan and Cynthia Kolbeck, named in honor of Stan’s parents, Maurice and Jeanette Kolbeck. Built on a foundation of community, care, and quality, M&J’s quickly became a welcoming gathering place in Augusta.
In 2025, ownership was entrusted to Stacy Jeffries, who proudly carries forward the original vision—preserving the heart of M&J’s while guiding it into its next chapter.

M&J’s Coffeehouse is located in the Historic Red Brick District of Augusta, Kansas. We’re a cozy, welcoming space built around community, connection, and a great cup of coffee.
From our house-roasted beans to our seasonal specialty drinks, we pour care and passion into everything we serve, because we believe a good cup of coffee can make any day better.
Founded on the simple idea of creating a place where everyone feels at home, M&J’s is perfect for working remotely, studying, or catching up with friends.

Our menu centers on exceptional coffee and tea, complemented by fresh pastries and a light lunch selection. We specialize in high-quality, medium-roast coffee, roasted in-house for a smooth, aromatic, and balanced cup. Whether you prefer a classic drip, espresso, or specialty latte, every drink is crafted with care.
We bake our pastries in-house, offering daily favorites like cinnamon rolls and breakfast casserole, along with muffins and sweet treats. Our light lunch options include soups and sandwiches—simple, comforting choices that make for a perfect midday pick-me-up. Our signature offering is our house-roasted medium-roast coffee, a true reflection of our commitment to quality.
Beyond the menu, M&J’s is a place to relax and unwind. Enjoy smooth jazz by the fireplace, bring your laptop to get some work done, read a book, or play board games and puzzles with friends.
